In the early hours of April 10, 1940, Captain Bernard Warburton-Lee steered his five destroyers into a Norwegian passage barely wide enough to maneuver in.
His target was the Arctic port funneling Swedish iron into Hitler's war machine. His window was closing. A local pilot station had handed him the intel he desperately needed: six unsuspecting German warships at anchor, and a snowstorm for cover.
Five against six and no room to hide… reckless, yes. But Warburton-Lee had run the numbers. Surprise would be his sixth ship. That was enough for an ambush.
But in the cold dark waters of Norway, he wasn’t the only one lurking.
