Scandinavia’s Largest 1:32 Scale Railway | Incredible Spur 1 Model Trains

Today we’re visiting one of the most impressive model railway layouts in Scandinavia. Located inside the historic Næs Ironworks Museum in southern Norway, this amazing Spur 1 (1:32 scale) railway is a true masterpiece built with incredible craftsmanship and attention to detail.

The layout stretches an astonishing ca 300 meters with a main line and several branch lines. Every section is packed with beautifully recreated Norwegian landscapes, detailed stations, bridges, industrial buildings, locomotive sheds, workshops, and charming villages that bring the railway to life.

Many of the stations are inspired by the famous Arendal Line and Rjukan Line, making this layout a fascinating journey through Norwegian railway history. Every locomotive and wagon is a faithful scale model of real trains, creating an authentic atmosphere as they travel through the miniature world.

Spur 1, also known as the Royal Scale, is built in 1:32 scale, allowing for an extraordinary level of realism. From weathered locomotives to tiny figures and carefully crafted scenery, there is something new to discover around every corner.
