Come with us to Norway! I had the biggest surprise on my 30th birthday last year, when my best friend Izzy told me we’d be going to one of my bucket list destinations, the stunning Norwegian Fjords. We cruised for 7 nights on the P&O Iona in May 2025 and the whole experience was incredible.
As usual you'll see the vlog from our trip first, and then at the end I sit down to share some tips and reflections I hope will be helpful to others, especially those travelling with disabilities. Please bear in mind I’m one ambulatory wheelchair user with a chronic illness and don’t represent every disabled person’s thoughts and experiences, but I really hope you enjoy coming along with us!

This vlog documents our week on board the P&O Iona, sailing from Southampton to Norway. After a sea day, our first port was Stavanger, where we explored the beautiful Fargegaten rainbow street. The next day we used the City Sightseeing Hop On Hop Off Bus in Alesund, stopping at the Sonmore Museum and *attempting* to walk from Aksla Stadium to the famous viewpoint. Olden was our favourite port, where we booked the Loen Skylift through Olden Adventure and took one of the world's steepest cable cars up Mount Hoven. We ended the trip with a wander around Haugesund, before one more sea day as we sailed back to Southampton. This vlog documents my experience travelling with my best friend with a manual wheelchair, rather than the power-chair I use at home, and enjoying our holiday alongside managing my chronic illness and multiple food allergies!

Hello! My name is Pippa Stacey and I’m a disabled content creator based in Yorkshire. I'm also a freelance writer, speaker, and communication consultant, and one of only a handful of specialists in energy-limiting conditions in the UK. In my free time I enjoy theatre and books, and can most often be found wearing pyjamas with a cup of tea in hand.
I acquired my chronic illness as a teenager and struggle daily with the challenges of living my best life alongside managing a debilitating health condition. However, I’ve finally learned that I don’t have to ‘defy’ my illness in order to find fulfillment, and that there’s nobody’s path you have to follow but your own.
