Shipping companies are asked by charterers to prove performance related to speed and fuel consumptions for each voyage

They may make commitments with charterers how much fuel consumptions and emissions there will be in the charterparty, with financial penalties if they miss them.

It is probably best if you monitor performance for each day during the voyage. That way you can see if you are on target to meet your commitments, and make adjustments if not. For example, adjusting the trim of the vessel.

At the same time, you can check you are on track to meet your target emissions for the year, for your CII submission, or if it is time to make changes to propeller and hull efficiency, such as from cleaning.

And of course, the better the vessel performance, the more competitive the vessel will be in future contract negotiations with charterers.

We may also see regulations change to demand voyage by voyage emissions data reporting for MRV (EU) or DCS (IMO).

In this webinar, presented by NAVTOR, we'll learn about tools and methods which can help you do this, including tools for voyage planning, monitoring, and post voyage analysis, getting insights you can use to make better decisions.
