Silas Henriksen was born in Arendal, Norway, where he began his dance training at the age of six. After studying at Oslo Academy of the Arts, he joined The Norwegian National Ballet in 2007 and later danced with Nederlands Dans Theater from 2010.
His career has taken him to some of the world’s leading stages, including the Bolshoi Theatre and Mariinsky Theatre in Russia, Lincoln Center in New York and the Sydney Opera House in Australia. In 2018 he was appointed Principal dancer with The Norwegian National Ballet.
Alongside his stage career, he has collaborated with artist Nils Bech on several projects and created the dance film Apart together with cinematographer Cecilie Semec, which premiered at the opening exhibition of the new National Museum in Oslo in 2022. He has also received recognition for leading roles such as the title role in The Hamlet Complex and Eilert Løvborg in Hedda Gabler.
