Hisøy is a former municipality in the old Aust-Agder county, Norway. The 9.8-square-kilometre (3.8 sq mi) municipality existed from 1881 until its dissolution in 1992. The area is now part of Arendal Municipality in the traditional district of Østre Agder in Agder county. The administrative centre was the village of Kolbjørnsvik on the island of Hisøy. Prior to its dissolution in 1992, the 9.8-square-kilometre (3.8 sq mi) municipality was the 445th largest by area out of the 448 municipalities in Norway, making it the third smallest municipality in the whole nation and the smallest in Aust-Agder county. Hisøy Municipality was the 239th most populous municipality in Norway with a population of about 4,026.
