We arrived in Haugesund, Norway on P&O Aurora R608 on a grey, drizzly morning and decided to walk from the cruise port to the famous Rising Tide horse statues.

In this video we show you:

The coastal path from Haugesund cruise terminal (30-40 mins, flat & easy)
Risøy Lighthouse - worth stopping?
Rising Tide by Jason deCaires Taylor - 4 horses in the sea - stunning even in rain
Picnic bench stop and walk back through town
Ice cream in Haugesund town
Sail away with red tug BB COASTER pushing Aurora
Our favourite spots - looking down the side of the ship and Terrace Pool with land slipping by
Is Haugesund worth getting off the ship for? We think yes, even in the rain! No excursion needed, free walk.

Next video: Olden & Loen Skylift - sunny day!

Have you done the Rising Tide walk? Let us know in comments.

Filmed June 2026 on P&O Aurora R608 Norwegian Fjords cruise from Southampton.
