The Fred Olsen cruise ship Balmoral will visit Lerwick, Shetland on Up Helly Aa day in January 2026. The 1,350-passenger ship will arrive early on Tuesday, January 27, and depart late that night after the procession. The cruise includes stops in Stavanger and Haugesund, Norway, before arriving in Lerwick. Fred Olsen Cruises arranged the stop to coincide with the festival, which celebrates Shetland's Viking heritage with a traditional fire festival. The cruise ship will depart from Southampton, England, and return there on a 10-night voyage.
