The Minister of Manpower Federal Seamus O'Regan shows that changing the planned increase in carbon tax can be more difficult than being seen. Atlantic Prime Minister wrote the Minister of Environment Federal Federal Steven Guilbeault this week, urged him to reconsider the further increase in carbon tax given the increase in inflation. Prime Minister Andrew Furey said the intention of increasing carbon tax had been fulfilled effectively when people adjusted their habits to reflect the soaring costs. Minister O'Regan is in Stavanger, Norway where he attended the 2022 North Sea Conference. He said it was clear to him in conversations with investors and business leaders that they like stability and certainty. He said when you come to carbon tax or pollution price "you don't play with it." He said this type of decision must ensure and can be predicted so that investment decisions can be made. "The investment decision creates employment ... bring investment, they bring income," O'Regan said.
