BREAKING CRUISE NEWS! MAJOR Itinerary Change! 26-Foot Seas Cancel Norway & Iceland!

We have a MAJOR itinerary change aboard Majestic Princess!

As we sailed away from Haugesund, Norway, our captain announced that a large storm system is developing along our planned route, with seas expected to reach approximately 26 feet.

Because of the storm, our upcoming port calls in Skjolden, Norway and Reykjavik, Iceland have been cancelled.

We are certainly disappointed. Iceland was one of the destinations we were particularly excited to visit on this Fire & Ice transatlantic cruise.

But keeping the guests, crew and ship safe comes first.

Instead, Princess has arranged a new port call in Belfast on Thursday, giving us a long day there and allowing Majestic Princess to take a different route and shelter from the worst of the storm.

Allison also talks about something she heard almost immediately after the announcement: passengers questioning whether the itinerary really needed to change because they had experienced large waves on other cruises.

Her thought is simple — we need to trust the captain, the officers onboard and the shoreside teams making these decisions. Changing a cruise itinerary this dramatically is no small thing, and these decisions aren't made lightly.

Sometimes cruising means accepting that weather can change even the best-made plans.

We're disappointed to miss Iceland, but we'll get there another time — and we're excited to take you along on our unexpected return to Belfast!
