This video compresses 208 miles of travel in to just over 16 minutes of video. Hope you like the scenery.

My departure from ‘Bratland’ campsite was around 10:00hrs, because once again I needed to let my tent dry. I headed north of the city of Bergen aiming for the ‘E16’ which would take me to the ‘E39’, which is the main road linking the south and north of Norway on the North Atlantic coast.

On this section of my trip I was heading for the west coast fjords, travelling on roads along the coast in to deep valleys, skirting around lakes and following rivers. The journey also involved lots of long tunnels going through many mountains. Plus a couple of ferries to carry me to the other side of two fjords.

I initially did not want to use the ferries, but I reconsidered this decision and decided that the ferries would save me a lot of time, fuel and reduce the distance I would need to travel to my main goal for the tour… ‘The Atlantic Road’.

I was under the impression that the ferries were expensive, but for man and machine, it only cost me about £2 per ferry journey.

Todays weather was a bit mixed, but it stayed dry, even though there was lots of low cloud/mist/fog.

The other thing that I made sure I would do today was to choose a suitable time to locate and get booked into a campsite. Remember this is an Ad-Hoc camping motor bike trip, the only bit that is planned are the destinations (or distance) for each day.

I started looking for a campsite around 17:00hrs when I got to the town of Stryn, but all the campsites in and further down the road were packed out with people enjoying ‘Oktoberfest’ in ‘September! Plus a lot of the people in the town and on the campsites were dressed in traditional Bavarian / Austrian clothing. Very Strange!

I eventually found a really nice campsite at a round 18:00hrs (which still had Oktoberfest happening) which had a cabin available giving me access to electric for my battery chargers. I treated myself to a little bit of luxury, plus I would not have to dry my tent the following morning.

At the end of the day I was able to explore my surroundings and admire the view over Stryn lake.
