Days 5–9 | Chasing Norway’s Wildest Roads ????️
We started Day 5 surrounded by the dramatic beauty of Geiranger, then headed straight for the legendary Trollstigen. From hairpin bends and towering mountains, we continued towards the Atlantic Ocean Road, before finding a quiet spot by the lake to set up our wild camp for the night.
Day 6 was a big one. We packed up camp and rode through Kristiansund towards Trondheim, clocking over 360 km along the way. After a long day in the saddle, we found another peaceful wild camping spot at Braseth Rest Stop and called it a night.
On Day 7, the scenery went to another level. We took on the Helgelandskysten Scenic Route 17 — arguably one of Norway’s most underrated roads. With endless coastal views, mountains and open wilderness around us, it quickly became one of the highlights of the trip. We finished the day at Offersøy Camping.
Day 8 took us to the incredible Svartisen Glacier, one of Norway’s most spectacular natural wonders. After taking in the frozen landscape, we climbed back on the bikes and pushed further north, eventually finding a beach spot near Mevik to wild camp beneath the Arctic skies.
Then came Day 9 — and the road to the Lofoten Islands! We stopped at the powerful Saltstraumen, passed through Bodø, and boarded the ferry towards Lofoten. After three rocky hours on the water (seriously a wild ride in a bad weather), we arrived on the islands and rode on to the stunning fishing village of Henningsvær. With the mountains rising around us, we found another wild camping spot and settled in for the night.
Five days, over 1,400 km, countless bends, glaciers, fjords, ferries and some seriously unforgettable landscapes. And somehow, we were only getting started.????
